EXPECTED RESULTS
The operational plan aims to transform the research of the informatics laboratory in agriculture into an organized framework for managing all inputs-outputs, through an electronic platform with the ultimate goal of reducing production costs, increasing gross profit.
Added value
The electronic platform for the integrated monitoring of technical-economic data of farms creates a double advantage.
- First, it leads to reduced input usage and rational inventory management, as any activity is recorded and any information can be retrieved. In this context, managing stocks and inputs in a rational way, analyzing profit per crop and choosing a new production plan, as well as reducing travel to decision centers can play an important role in reducing costs. This reduction helps to reduce the total cost of cultivation by up to 20%, according to the studies of the AUTH laboratory, resulting in a greater profit for producers with a simple application of technology.
- The second role of the platform is auxiliary to the use of the Register of Inputs Outputs – Work Calendar which is necessary to receive the CAP subsidies. The organization of such a register through an electronic platform is useful, so that documents and data are registered and there is no risk of losing them and consequently losing the aid.
First time in Greece
The Operational Plan is implemented for the first time on such a large scale (Region of Central Macedonia) with the aim of spreading it initially to the surrounding Regions and then to the whole of Greece.
This is an innovative project, as it will include information on all crops in Central Macedonia, with the aim of simultaneously managing entire farms and not just one crop. The connection of farmers with Information and Communication Technologies and in particular with the electronic management of their holdings has a double innovative perspective.
The rational monitoring of financial data in a remote way will make producers independent of accounting-technical offices, drastically reducing their movements and expenses. Also, input management through the platform will create more efficient farms, by identifying time periods and categories of high costs, helping to increase competitiveness.
